Fathima said, " Mummy, can we go to the park to see Ducks?"
"Okay, Insha Allah," said mum. "But I have to do this first. Go and get your brother and sister. I will come soon, Insha Allah"
Fathima went to get her brother and sister. She helped them get ready. Soon mum had finished and came to look for the children. "Alhamdulillah you are Good children, you are all ready to go," said mum.
"Yes, we are ready," said Fathima "I helped them get ready because Allah likes it when I help my mum".
"Masha Allah, you are such a clever girl. Allah does like it when we help each other," replied mum. "Can we take some bread to feed the Ducks?" asked Junaid, Fathima's little brother.
"Yes Junaid, I have packed some stale bread for the ducks and some Lunch for us. Now let us go to the park" she said. "I'm going to catch some tadpoles," said Junaid excitedly as he grabbed his nature pack.
"Insha Allah, you will "said Fathima, "but Insha Allah, I am going to feed the ducks and find some butterflies. Soon through all the chatter they had reached the park. They started to look for the ducks, they were easy to find as they never strayed far from the bridge.
Mum took the stale bread out of her bag and gave some to each of the children. "Look, look mum, ducklings, they are so cute." said Fathima
"Alhumdullilah, Allah has given these little creatures life," said mum as she threw the last piece of bread into the water. "Come on. Lets go and eat our Lunch," said mum
Fathima got the Lunch out of the container and gave them one each. She said 'Bismillah'. "Subhan Allah you remembered it, and I didn't have to help you remember it. You are growing up to be such a bright girl," said mum.
"Alhumdulilah" said Junaid, "I have finished my lunch mum, and may I go and play?"
"Yes you may, but be careful that you don't fall in". Junaid grabbed his butterfly net out his nature pack and headed towards the lake. Soon he was busily looking for any signs of tadpoles.
Mum and Fathima continued to eat there lunch. Junaid, being a somewhat clumsy little boy balanced unsteadily on the bank and a log semi submerged in the water. "Be careful Junaid," mum called out, but splash Junaid had fallen head first into the water.
Mum rushed over to help Junaid out of the water. Fathima started laughing at the site of her wet brother now sitting at the edge of the bank covered in mud.
Junaid was not happy. He started to cry. He didn't like his sister laughing at him. Fathima stopped laughing, remembering that Muslims shouldn't make fun of each other.  "Its ok," she said, "We will just go home and get you some new clothes. Please don't cry." Junaid stopped crying, and started smiling, He wanted to go home and get some new clothes.
"Lets go home then" said mum. "Can we come back tomorrow mum," asked Junaid, "I promise I will be more careful."
"Yes, Insha Allah, we can come back tomorrow" said mum.
“Insha Allah I will see some butterflies tomorrow," said Fathima
"Insha Allah you will" said mum                                   |
