The material leaders try to occupy the place where the spiritual leaders dominated with their spiritual power. But it can be seen often that these materialistic knelt before these venerable personalities. They possessed the map of entire world. They have ambassadors and embassies in different places (Mada Khasiral Aalam by Nadvi Sahib; Page 235).
We said before the spiritual leaders lead the minds of people while the materialistic lead the external bodies of them. Hence, the spiritual leaders never need police, army, arms, courts or jail. In fact, these leaders will be the learned and efficient enough to conquer the spiritual world. It was about such scholar, the Prophet (PBH) said: “The scholars of my community are equivalent to the prophets of Israel”.
They aren’t mere Auliya but the leaders and controllers of them. In fact the term ‘Valiyy’ is applied to a real believer who is well understood about the Almighty, always indulging in worship to Him and entirely sincere in his rituals” (Fathh al Bari 11\342). Generally, the leader of Auliya is known as ‘Quthub’ as well as the leader of Quthubs is known as ‘Quthubul Aqthab’. A Quthub must be well learned in religious knowledge and deeply interested in full time worshiping (Sharvani).
They have reached on the pinnacle of genuine belief. Their words, minds and action never trespass the rules and regulations of the Lord “It is belief that is the base stone of the action and morals. Its great position is a sort of psychological power originating from belief and the consequent action. This power much influences the heart and controls it in a straight path. Moreover, all parts of body kneel before this power as like as his action. Hence, any sort of sine, whether it is small or great, cannot touch the person who possessed such a belief” (Muqaddima, Ibn Al Khaldun, page 46).
Sheik Abdul Qadir Jeelani, he is the most famous among the great Quthubs who was able enough to control the heart beats of Islam. He got the name ‘Muhyidhin’ (one who make the religion alive). It is only because, he succeeded the inactive state of Islam to the ever shining by transforming activeness of the religion and emancipating the unbelievers and ignorant people from the utter darkness of disbelief and anti-social doings.
Sheik Jeelani was a foretold reformer. His arrival was not an accidental one. In fact, It is reported by different ways that a number of spiritual leaders had foretold on his arrival approximately a century before his birth (Fathawa- al Hadithiyya, Page 315).
The sheik was born by the illustrious parents from the prophet’s family. He grew expressing a lot of unusual events in his childhood itself. He showed uncontrollable thirst for earning knowledge and indulging in worship. So from his teenage itself he became a great scholar.
The message from the glorious life of the Sheik (May Allah Mercy upon him) is so; earn knowledge for the real belief, the belief for genuine worship, the worship for getting the presence of the Almighty and strive every nerve to get it until your death.
The Sheik was the unparalleled charismatic personality who was able to handle the thirteen branches of knowledge and take class in it. He used to give ‘fatwa’ in the both schools of Islamic jurisprudence, Shafiee and Hambali. The history of Sheik Jeelani teaches us the meaningless of a misunderstanding that ‘the vilayath’ is a short cut to escape from the entanglings of religious rules and regulations.
Once, the Sheik heard a heavenly voice “I am your Lord, I give you permission to do all the prohibited…..” But he understood soon that it was a devilish chant and he threw all sorts of cursing upon it.
His speech was not to fancies but to hearts. His spiritual advices console the disappointed in wrong doings, make the lazy interested in worshiping and bring the real worshiper to the ascendant of the satisfaction.
Here, may shower a drop from the sea of such advices: “If you feel love or angry to a fellow, you should examine his doings in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah. Then if it is affordable one, love him, or if not, you should hate him. You don’t love or hate any one with your own choice. The Almighty says: “You never imitate your self-will. It may make you astray from the way of the Almighty”. You don’t avoid any one without the sake of Allah. You should turn your reluctant mind towards him, if he used to commit the small sins and he does the great sins. Verily, it is sacrifice for the sake of Allah” (Thabaqath Al Ssha’rani).
